New Tourist Centre Tweed Heads
If you have been into Central Tweed Heads lately you will have noticed the new tourist centre . It certainly has made an improvement to that part of town.
Officially called The Visitor Information Centre it is now open for business and is a good start for anyone wanting to make the most of their time on the Tweed Coast. Its location in the centre of town and close to the shopping centre will make it easy for visitors to find and benefit from.
The next progressive step in Tweed is the redevelopment of Jack Evans Boat Harbour which is located right behind the Information Centre. The harbour will be a great place for families to gather as well as tourists even though there has been a lot of discussion on just how it would be developed.
The Tweed is ready for new life but it must also be remembered that there are those in the community that struggle and may not have enough to eat or a place to sleep. Hopefully some growth in the community will provide more opportunities for employment that may help some of those that struggle.

The Place I Call Home
I have lived in Tweed Heads on and off for thirty one years, it isn't where I was born but it is my home. I want to share its wonders, the good and the bad the beautiful and the ugly, daily if I can.
I have traveled and moved around quite a bit and the Tweed area has a lot to offer - good weather, beautiful beaches and hinterland, good people and pretty much everything you need at your fingertips.
I will share my experiences with the people, the businesses, the sport, weather and environment as I encounter them and see how we go.
This afternoon my daughter took part in a fitness assessment program conducted by the students from Kingscliff Tafe's fitness instructors course. Tweed Netball Association organised it for their representative teams for 2010. The girls took part in various tests of their aerobic fitness, agility, strength and stamina.
It was a great opportunity for both the students and the girls and although tired, and a little wet from such much needed rain, a worthwhile and enjoyable experience.
Back soon, take care and remember to be grateful for the things you have.
